On May 7th, the voters of Chautauqua County Community School voted against the proposed bond to build additional Classrooms and make substantial updates and repairs to existing facilities. Thank you to all voters who took part in the election. The USD 286 BOE was hopeful that this bond issue would rally our patrons together around the cause of investing in our community school, bringing our community and school family together. While that did not happen, as a result of this election, we do believe that all our patrons do want the best school possible for the children of USD 286. The USD 286 BOE has always been committed to both the children of our district and the patrons they represent. With that in mind, the BOE has no plans to pursue another bond issue at this time. The BOE will explore other options to meet the needs of our students and staff. The district has been able to make substantial improvements to facilities in recent years, while remaining fiscally sound. The district will continue to take this same approach to address our current needs. Some projects will be able to be completed in the near future, some will take longer and alternative plans will be made for others, but we will keep progressing and working hard to provide the best education possible for all students. Thank you for your continued support of Chautauqua County Community School.
